We went to Agriculture House on Tuesday to meet with the minister for agriculture Simon Coveney. He was very nice and he invited TD Paul Connaughton to meet us too as he has an interest in farm safety. We showed them our website and talked about farm safety and what we thought was important for kids. He liked the idea of getting #farmsafety trending and said we might do it in July as they are launching a big farm safety scheme then ... They are going to give money in a grant to farmers to make safety changes on their farms. Anyway we think it's a good time too as school holidays are when a lot of farming accidents involving children happen! We brought him a cake made by Sandra from Caketoons in Shrule Co Mayo! She did an amazing job with it and we couldn't wait to try it after driving up with the gorgeous smell in the car! It tasted as good as it looked!! So if anyone needs a cake ... Look her up on Facebook or Twitter!
The minister had to rush to important Dáil business so we said our goodbyes and the minister said he will see us again at one of the shows we are doing or at the national ploughing championships! We were very happy he said we were a credit to our teacher #highpraise!
Thank you Minister for taking the time to discuss our work with you! We really enjoyed it. On our way home we googled how to become a Minister!!! Who knows 😉
